Dram, what a good Whiskey.
I’ve only ever experienced the 10 year distilled Laphroaig
whiskey and I can’t get enough of it . You either love this
whiskey or hate it. I’ve sampled my fair share of whiskeys
then my father discovered this one. We were blown away. What a
mouth
warmer!
It’s not sweet like many other whiskeys, it’s got a serious
earthy flavour to it. You don’t need to be an expert to work out
it’s different. The area in which it’s distilled is a unique
place. The Isle of Islay is remote (off the West coast of
Scotland) and is home to many a peat bog with unique seaweed
characteristics which affects the taste of the water there. This
in turn affects the taste of the whiskey, as does the air the
whiskey breathes when in the oak barrels. How the science behind
this works I really don’t know, you’ll just have to try it to
believe it. It seems to bring to life a combination of taste
buds that no other drink even comes close to. The taste for me
is best at the back of you mouth, and seems to concentrate
itself on the top of your palette. It’s a warm musty taste, hard
to describe. Do not drink it fast, savour every Laphroaig
moment.

THE MOST RICHLY FLAVOURED OF ALL SCOTCH WHISKIES
Take it neat or with a splash of soft water. Roll it around on your
tongue. Release the pungent, earthy aroma of the blue peat smoke, the sweet
nuttiness of the barley and the delicate, heathery perfume of Islay's
streams. Like the islanders it may seem a little aloof at first, but make
the effort, broach acquaintance and we can guarantee you'll have a warm and
genuine friend for life.
The award winning family of Laphroaig Whiskies ranges from the rich,
pungent 10 Year Old to the smooth and exceptionally rare 40 Year Old. But
whatever Laphroaig you choose, you can sense 200 years of loving care
distilled into every bottle.
We have always considered Laphroaig the best single malt in the World. In
2005 we were proud to be voted 'the best of the best' in the Champions of
Whisky Competition - so now it's official!
